was common a long time ago, not as many people do it now, theres a good guide on this site somewhere on how to do it.
its not very good for your scalp, it drys it out and makes it itch like extremely badly(so im told) but it will hold and it is pretty easily to do(from the video i watched)
i did an experiment awhile ago well i was in the shower, before wetting my hair i lathered my hands and stuck my hair up, it was about half the height it is now(so maby 4 inches) and it stuck up perfecly fine, i had to wash it out to take it down, and that was a 1 minute spike job.
Shit this was the first way I could do it. Past 6-7 inches I'd imagine its terribly difficult. Other than that it works fabulously.
After soap I'd use clear elmer's glue and it'd hold for a week. Since then I'd switched to Murray's pomade (found with african american hair stuff). It has a similar consistency but takes a long ass time to get out. For darker hair there's black soap (less obvious discoloration) found right by the Murrays. Yeah I used to fucking swear by soapy hawks. It's alot better for fanned hawks than spikes.
i always use soap when my hawk is not that long. Can be done in two minutes with just a hard chunk of soap and a little water applied to it (gotta do some testing, not too much and not too little water)
Makes it also look nice, and is washed out very fast. And as other say, don't think about getting out when it rains or your face will get all soapy :D
Doesn't work for big hawks +20cm
yeah. thanks a shitload brah. I have still yet to try it tho.. but that gold hawk is the shiznits doode.
and yeah.. i don't think we have sunlight here...
