So yea.
I've made it less than a month, at a community college, and I'm already considering dropping out. I'm going for all the wrong reasons, and am completely uncomfortable with it. I feel like a retard when I attend class because I really can't catch onto what we are learning no matter how hard I try. So I'm thinking, maybe I should just drop out. I know I should go to college, but I'm only going to make family members happy, not ME. Shouldn't I come first in my own life? I mean, it seems pretty logical to me. And yea, I know I'd need to find a full-time job, which is hard in this economy, but I think I could do it. I never had it in my life plan to go to college, not until my dad was all mysteriously gung-ho about me going even though he refuses to help me with it financially. And then everyone else in my family got all gung-ho about me going, so how could I not? I have to make them happy, don't I?

Gah...=[
Guys, please make me feel like less of a dumb-ass dead beat. Please?

there's nothing wrong with not going to college.
but you should stop looking at all the things you DONT wanna do. and look at what you WANT to do.

what exactly do you feel like you wanna do.
are you in the wrong classes for college? or do you have a carrer that doesn't need college in mind?

the last thing you should do right now is drop out without a game plan :\. if you are for sure gonna drop out, i highly suggest looking for a full time job as you go to school, this way if you cant get a job your still in school. and it shouldn't take more then a few hours a day to look for a full time job(i don't know anyone whos looked for a job more then 3-5 hours a day every day for a few weeks)

but the best thing to do is, think of what YOU wanna do before you jump into something.

and dont do anything because you think you might upset someone for doing it, your parents will understand sooner or later.
Well, I'd say give yourself some more time and see how you are getting on with the course after the first few months at least. Wait to see how your first few tests turn out.

It takes time to get into the swing of college, esp. if the subject is new to you. But it's true that if you don't want to be there you'll find it hard to concentrate on learning and there is always time to go back to college later - depending on how the fees system works over there.

There will always be jobs either way - just you're more likely to get more pay this way - though if you can't get your head round the subject after a longer period at it then you won't probably want to do the job after college. Still, stick with it for a bit longer would be my advice until you're sure.
