Mohawks Rock

Ok, I want to change the colour of my hair. The blue in it is pretty faded now (you can see the blonde in some places) but I don't know how faded it needs to be, this is the first time I've changed colour (I was natural brown for a few months and then blue since).

Look at the pic below and let me know what you think, do I need to wait longer, or should I be able to dye it green now?

(yes, my hair is really tatty, leave it alone, it wasn't finished.)

Also, I want to have some kind of multi-coloured pattern (maybe black tips, or something, not sure yet) what's the best way to do that?

Cheers

What type of green are you trying to achieve?

Most greens will cover that blue (it's really far gone) but you'll still have to bleach your roots.
When I do the tips, I section my hair out and band it off where I want the color to start and don't let it lay on anything lighter colored. Patterns aren't too hard, either.
I've seen the ends being colored while they were "up" but I'm not a fan of that, between product and gravity.
I'm going for an "electric" green.

When you say "band it off" how do you mean?
using hair ties. they're essentially hair friendly rubber bands.

So I'll section my hair (almost like I am doing liberty spikes, except a bit smaller) and tie those off at the bottom or close to the bottom and then I'll put a hair band (elastic, ties, etc) up top so the very top loop of the band is at the bottom of where I want the colored tips to start.

I'll go through my pictures I have saved and see if I have any that kind of show what I'm talking about if it's easier

It may be upside down, but can you see where my hair is brown and then I've got black hair ties in?
ok, thanks a lot
ok i have a question of my own. i had manic panic! aftermidnight blue and a blue intesifier in for a little over two months and it didnt really fade too much. but! i went to bleach it out the other day and my roots went blonde and the blue is still there, it just a very light baby blue now. i wanted to bleach it out so i could do a red again. since it didnt bleach out the first time, how would i get it out? i didnt really want to fry my hair so i only had the bleach in for about a half hour. should i try bleaching again in about a week or so?
HELP! please.

If it is that light, I wouldn't worry about it. I've dyed over light/bleached-out colors several times and never had any problems.
i once bleached out faded After Midnight Blue, and the roots bleached, but the blue part stayed light blue. I went to dye it orange and it ended up being orange with blueish green tips. Actually looked kinda cool, but yeah, the orange didnt cover the blue. I dont know if red will
I want to go green, which I'm gussing will be similar. :s

How faded was your blue? As faded as mine is? (see pic above).
It actually went really well, here's a pic.
