Mohawks Rock

Hi,

So I'm getting my first mohawk in a little under two weeks :D
My hair is naturally dark-brown, and I want my mohawk to be blue, hopefully this sorta colour:

So the question I have is, how would I achieve that colour? Would I have to bleach my hair very blonde and use a dark blue dye, or bleach my hair just a little lighter than it is and then use a bright blue dye? And is it the norm to use semi-permanent or permanent colour dyes?

Thanks for indulging a newbie! :)

if you're obsessive compulsive and a neat freak you might be able to bleach without getting the sides (as in, pile the hair on top of itself instead of letting it hang down) I've only ever once bleached the side of my hair by accident (or anyone else's for that matter). Metallic clips that look like bananas will help you hold your hair in place - ask a girl if they have them - they won't affect your hair, just hold it together.

or. bleach your whole head and color just your hawk.

or. shave the sides down.
Looks like this is all gonna have to wait a while - upon closer inspection this morning, having taken photographs of the back of my head, I've found that the woman who cut my 'hawk cut it ridiculously crookedly at the back :(
Grrr. I'm gonna have to cut it all off and start from scratch, with my own line this time. Still, at least I'll be getting exactly what I want in the end :) Plus it'll be easier to see what's going on with hair a few millimetres long as opposed to several inches lol
How crooked is it? It still might be salvagable!!

Sometimes it's not as noticable when you put it up, too.
its easy to fix a crooked hawk..takes some time but its not worth shaving it all off for!
okay so im lazy and not going to read the whole thread >.> but bleach it and punky colors turqoise is a beautiful blue and it lasts nice and long.. smells great too! (take a look at my pics if you want to see how it looks)

I'm no expert, but I think it's too crooked to be saved :(
I dunno why I didn't notice it at the time...grr.
You can always just shave everything else to match. it'd be a bit thinner, but it's definitely doable. I had to do that with mr. khaos's hair a time or two.
I'd go with bleaching it white blonde and using manic panic after midnight and a brighter blue in a two tone kinda way... that's how I got my hair that colour last year.
