Mohawks Rock

First off...Hello all, I'm new to the website and a mohawk enthusiast. I've had my mohawk for 3 months or so...I love it most days. It was a huuuuuuge change for me, I had hair down to my butt and then I just decided to get rid of it. But I have always loved mohawks and it'll grow back so it's whatever.

Since I've had my hawk my self esteem has gone up, it's super liberating I guess, and I think mohawks just bring on confidence...maybe that's just me. Anyways most days I'm confident. But since I got rid of my long hair, not to many guys seem to be interested...

So just curious...anyone, guys and girls, have trouble meeting people (relationship wise) because of your mohawk?

Girls, do you think guys are intimidated by it? Idk...just some stuff that's been on my mind...

It was quite rad, I must gloat a little tiny bit.

Although we aren't very good its still always fun. ^^
It really does intimidate people if you ask me. I've been single for a voer a year now. I haven't even been on a single date. The problem is that people judge you right away. They make a jump conclusion of who you are. Others think it is a great thing and ask you a shit load of questions. Which i find annoying as hell. I don't mind answerign a question or two, but not a barrage of them. I think girls with mo-hawks are the greatest. They have confidence, they are willing to break free from the norm, and do what they please. Which is rare to find in a girl. Its sad, where i live i have only seen 4 other people with a mo-hawk. One of which looks like complete shit and is terribly fucked up. The otherone had to shave it very short for his job, and the toerhs were just at shows. Its depressing to see my breed dead is this area.
You made me laugh so hard with "One of which looks like shit." I haven't found anyone around here with a mohawk...it's ridiculous!
Its unfortunately true lol. Its all these different lengths, which sounds cool, but its tupid looking. He looks like a fucking fish. The funny thing is he thinks i copied him. Even though i had thought about it before i met him, and did the day after meeting him. So i obviously didn't know him well enough to even take him into consideration. I really wish there were more mo-hawks around. I'm talking ones like mine. Or at least more than 6 inchs. I'm sick of all the pussy hawks that people have, and think they are cool because of it.
I have a pussy hawk =[ It's longer in the front and tapers down in the back...But it's only like 3 inches at the longest part. There's one kid in my math course who has a fo-hawk, and for some reason today my professor asked me what I did to make it stick up (I don't stick it up hardcore I look silly, but it's poofy, I need better photos. annnywayyyys... I was like...Hairspray? And the kid with the fo-hawk was like I was wondering what you used...Pointless story sry. But I have yet to see any mohawks around...and I especially haven't seen any other girls with them...idk now it seems its a conversation starter and I'm starting to meet people because of it. I think it's harder for guys....guys are more intimidating.
Yea, my jacket makes me look like htis buff mother fucker that will take ont he world. Truth is i weigh in at 103(i had surgery this past year so i'm trying to regain some weight.) You should just keep growing it out. The taller the mo-hawk, the more impressive it is. I saw this guy with a fo-hawk once, started ranting on about how punk he was. So i asked him if he had ever heard of The Adolescents, or the Krum Bums, or G.B.H. HE didn't know any of them. So i socked him in the face. Said don't disgrace my culture and way of life with your pussy desires to be cool. PUnk is not about beign cool, its about unity and breaking free from mainstream society. He looked at me and said i was retarded because all it was, was fashion. Thats when i proceeded to break one of his ribs and walked off. I was having a bad day, and that comment put me over the edge.
Holy shit, good for you!
I 100% agree. I hate it when people see it as a fashion statement or a cry for attention.. People are extremely ignorant these days..

Ive only seen 1 other girl (in person, this site is filllllleddd with them) with a mohawk. Tons of fauxhawks. And rayhawks. D= I live in Tampa x_x

But I don't think that a mohawk has to be over 6 inches to be ballsy. Mines about 4ish inches and i shave the sides all the way down. I'm growing it out, but for the being time it is very distinguished. (and easier to put up ^^)
I just hate when people assume things, not necessarily negative things...just like random things like yesterday.

I was at the mall, and this group of 4 guys stopped me to hit on me or something...which already was shitty because I was there to just chill out solo and buy some crap. But I can't be a bitch I just feel bad so I stopped and talked with them. And they say you must do something extreme, you skate? I'm like, uh no...I don't. Then I lied and said I had a boyfriend, and they asked for my number anyway...are you serious guy?

As far as fauxhawks...I personally don't like them, but hey if you want to wear your hair like that go ahead...I don't care. There's a kid in my class with one...I think I mentioned that before...anyway...I was telling some story to someone and I just like..."Yeah, my hawk dominates his fauxhawk...like guy I wreck you." He naturally looks silly fauxhawk or not.

Me personally, I'm getting used to just accepting people for whatever they are (or look like etc.) If some guy wants to prance around in skinny jeans and look "punk" and he's not into punk music he just likes the style...whatever...dress how you want guy. There are plenty of chicks who dress preppy-ish and like music like heavy metal, punk rock, etc. My opinion is you shouldn't base the way you dress according to what music you listen to...or the 'lifestyle' most people associate with that type of clothing...if you like it wear it, as long as you are true to yourself and don't try and fake being the whole image when you're not. Like talking about how much you like a certain type of music...and not know anything about it...

Live an let live...just know if you have a fauxhawk my hair is going to WRECK yours...not that I'd say it to someones face, but I'd think it and smile.

Okayyy..enough of me going on and on...I know some of you might not agree with me, but that's alright lol.

*I haven't seen any girls with mohawks...and I've only seen like 2 guys with actual mohawks. Sigh.*
I have A LOT of fucking issues when it comes too meeting people relationship wise...or at all...but NONE OF THEM ever had anything to do with my mohawk.

Man, I wish my 'hawk would grow the fuck back already. My hair is taking FOREVER to flippin' grow dude.
Maybe that's it...it's not the mohawk...it's me...I'm defective. >:[ Ugh.
Aren't we all fucking defective?
Aren't we all?
My mohawks up for like 2 months now .. and since I live in a shithole in a shitcountry with people thinkin I'm satan, I feel awesome =P .. Tho my parents won't let me put up my mohawk and wear my jacket when we're goin to family -.- ..
I'm assuming I'm like the only one in this place with a mohawk, and it gives me a feeling of power harhar.
tho people avoid me, and tend to look away when I look theyr way ..
And yeah, all the girls here are like .. Emo or slutty .. so yeah it's hard to meet people/girls ..
I don't give a shit tho ^^
