Is it possible to have a mohawk and a high paid job?

I have an OK job, pays well, but lookin for change. BUT i wanna keep hawk - its gotta be about 4inch so not too long but i definately wanna grow it more. Any ideas what job I could go for? I live in UK near London. If any help I was offered gay porn a while back when my hawk was about 8inch - but they are still waiting for my answer! (he wasnt my type) LOL

You are probably correct Boogle.......the thing that really bothers me is the misconception that people with Hawks are "careless about their appearance". I shower every day and put my Hawk up every day and spend quite a bit of time every morning on my appearance, which most people don't realize how long it takes to look after our Hawks. I work in retail so I deal face to face with the public every day and thankfully my Employer is okay with my Hawk.....and actually most of the customers seem okay with it too. I don't know if you could say I have a "high paying job"......depends on what Maveric considers high paying....I am presuming he means anything over 6 figures.

But yes, you are correct, most jobs dealing with clients or the public won't allow Hawks...sigh......so sad.

I don't know if it's something you would be interested in or how emergency services work in the UK,but the fire department I work for in the U.S. has no problem with my hair, as long as it is not up granted I normally pull it back into a pony-tail or something so not many people realize its a mohawk. I have to look professional while I'm on call/ working but a lot of it has to do with safety reasons such as being able to wear a helmet on a fire and take my piercings out so they don't get ripped out. I'm allowed to have plugs in my ears as long as they can't see through them. I take home a pretty nice pay check and even volunteer positions pay well. I've found it's a profession that if you work with them they will work with you.

You could look into jobs in the pay range you are after and see if it's something you want to do then call up someone in the management positions and ask to meet with them to discuss your interest in that field. You could find out if it's even something you would want to do and how a mohawk would be received . Hope this helps

In my opinion, if you are good enough they will keep/hire you no matter what you look like.

But that might be different outside of the Netherlands.

The Netherlands must be an awesome place...lol. :-) But that is the way it should be really.

It is! It should indeed, unfortunately not everybody sees it

I worked as a paramedic for 13 years and my hawk was never under 4" and I wore it up while on duty , guess it depends on how anal your new employer is going to be , in Australia we have unions and very strict anti discrimination laws , most Australian employers would not dare give you shit about your hair style -:)

Awesome......Australia Rocks!.:-) But seriously, what difference does a persons hair have to do with their individual performance at their workplace? As long as you are doing your job, and doing it well, that should be the main priority.

The trend I've found in most companies in the U.S. is the elderly don't like it... umm the "elderly" give me the most compliments. It's concern with out ward image over performance, I understand looking professional but people should be allowed to haave some freedoms and not feel like they have to compromise themselves for a job. I've worked with some people I wouldn't trust with a plastic spoon let alone save a life and instead of focusing on that persons lack of abilities and care for their job, the size of the holes in my ears was the focus and making sure I had my lip rings out -.-

I agree Blitz.....the elderly compliment on my Hawk the most. Why is I was to say wear a suit and tie, and have my Hawk up, is that not considered "professional"? So I have everything I need to look "professional".....suit, tie, polished black shoes, but because I have a Hawk, I am "unprofessional"? Makes no sense. It is all just an image thing based on years of society setting an image of the norm.
