Mohawks Rock

I'm thinking about getting a mohawk, but where to get it cut?

Normally mom mom'll cut my hair but she doesn't think she can pull this one off, haha. xD

I'm looking for something like Kitiey's hair ( http://www.mohawksrock.com/photo/green-and-white?context=user )

But I don't know where to go- mom said find a place by word of mouth, but I don't know any one that even gets their hair cut, like this at least.

So does any one know a place in the San Diego (San Marcos, Vista, Escondido, Oceanside, etc) area that's good at it? And about how much it would cost?

I went to a salon where they had a lesbian punker working. I walked into three different places until I saw someone with a multi colored mini 'hawk. I lucked out. No one around me has 'hawks so that was what I had to do.
I think the best hawks are self done ones. They're REAAALLLY not that hard.
But if you insist on going to a salon, then just look some up in the yellow pages. I'd suggest hair schools first, they're usually really cheap and beauty school students are usually more inclined to doing weird hair styles.
It shouldn't be hard...I mean, just call some places and ask if there's someone there who'll cut a feminine mohawk. :) Oh, and bring in that picture of what you want, they can't read your mind either.
Yeah, bring in a few photographs so that the person whom is cutting your hair can see the style in different angles, so it will be easier to figure out :)
just comb all the hair in a straight line along your head and cut the sides :) do it at home salons suck
Yea I'm just gonna do it myself....but clipper size:

Some one said to use 8, but the highest I have is a 7. Will that work?
the clipper size doesn't matter, it's the comb attachments that determine the length. I bought a really nice one with 7 different attachments for 20 bucks. I shave my head with the 1/8" (3mm) attachment.
Yea, that's what I meant, the attachment thing. xD

Well I just finished my hair...I don't think it's that bad for my first time cutting my own hair. =3
use scissors first to trim the sides, then use the clipper :)
got pics?
i went to super cuts the first time i had mine cut in. but i knew there was a really cool gay dude who'd had a hawk at that location. i'd recommend calling around or walking into different places. i think my total cost was $12, plus tip. where ever you go, take lots and lots and lots of example pictures with you. everytime i want a new style cut, i scour the internet for inspiration pictures, save all of them, and then make a slide show...yes i carry my laptop to the salon with me. if you don't have a laptop or color printer available, ask the stylist for an email address or myspace addy. showing the stylist pictures of what you want is key.
