How short?
i've recently got a mohawk, or atleast what I would call one. It's decently high, and I was originally going to wait till my hair got longer but I couldn't wait much longer. So I shaved the sides down and I'm wondering if what I have is a bit too long for it to be considered it a mohawk. Tell me what you think?
On a side note,
Because I'm Mexican-American I'm very dark and as a result, I think blonde would look odd on me so I've decided to dye either the hawk or the sides a very light brown instead. Which would look better? The hawk or just the sides?

Any strip of hair down the middle of your head is a mohawk man, no matter the length or if it is spiked.
You should experiment with the colour of your hair, you can always go back or grow it back.

The thing about that is that I can't really go with any very hardcore colors as i'm still a junior in high school. I will start experimenting in the summer though. Luckily, this is a pretty small town so even something like I have turns heads here, plus I quite like it haha.

Depending on how your hair works with bleach, you might find it turns orange/yellow as opposed to light brown. It's quite tricky to time it right and you'd be best off doing what they always suggest (though who does? :D) a strand test on a chunk of hair you cut off first.
I would probably say the 'hawk would be my choice to lighten - since that offers you more choice later if you decide to colour it. Though if it does bleach wrong, then you might prefer to do the sides instead, since you wont have to cut the 'hawk down but just take off the sides and they'll grow back as black stubble in a few days.
Nothing worse than having to wait for hair to grow long enough for a 'hawk again! =)
