I'm used to it.... thought it was just being 50 y/o, but sounds like it just happens. Agree that leaving it up for 8 days isn't good. Do you sleep with the 'hawk up?
unless its literally falling out in clumps, its very normal. specially if your hair is damaged to begin with. your hair naturally falls out every day but its usually not enough to notice, when you have your hair up for a long time the hair falls out but cant leave your head so when you wash it out it all comes out at once. if its already damaged then the strain of washing it out causes your hair to break off and just adds to the rest already coming out. nothing to worry about unless your ending up with bald spots or hair so thin you cant put it up anymore..
yyyyeah you probably shouldn't continuously leave your hair up that long...at least not every time. I made that mistake and my hair got fried and I had to cut it and start form nothing again =( You certainly want to keep it conditioned and healthy or it will catch up with you and you will regret it.
