Anyone with black hair have some info on how to dye it?
I've had trouble in the past using bleach wrong and ended up burning my scalp so any tips would be appreciated.

Don't put it on your scalp? |:
I have naturally dark hair, and I've had black hair, the only things that have worked for me are bleach, and dying it the same colour over and over and over again, which took FOREVER to finally get the right colour.
O.o u think i meant to put it on my scalp =P

But like is there a certain way ur suppose to rub on the bleach or something...cuz last time i tried i think i failed because it made my hair really really thin and weak. Worst Case Scenario is me going to a salon for a bleaching...
Well you never know!

I don't think so, all I did was "paint" it on my hair and left it.
Maybe you just left it in for too long?
So do you like apply the bleach, a little amount, and then just slap on the dye and go do something?
...The way I read that, it looks like you put the bleach and the dye on at once. D:
Anyways, this is how I did it
You put on the bleach,
Wait for however long (But not TOO long or your hair will basically be killed),
Rinse/wash your hair when it looks ready,
then just put on your other colour, unless it needs to be applied to dry hair, then dry it first.
And basically do the same thing. Not that hard.

Ok so i'm thinking about getting the bleach kit from there cuz its the only one i could find that was relatively cheap compared to stores and stuff...

and the dye from here.

So basically you do all the mixing and junk, apply to your hair, put a bag over it, and then take off the bag and put the dye in?
Whoa that's fucking weird, those are the brands I used. Different colour dye, though.

And yeah, exactly.
Also, if by 30 minutes or so your hair isn't as light as you'd like it (like if it's turned orange or pinkish, and not blond) you could bleach it a second time, but wait at least a day to do it. I put my dye in when it was still orangey-pinkish and it looked fine, but it's up to you.
Alright thats really helpfull...now i have to go get 20 bucks hehe.
Well you have fun with that
Another thing with bleaching and it doesn't come out trying to put heat on it helps lighten up the color a lot as well. I have dark hair and when I bleach it i get a orange tint to it, so when I started using heat it helped lighten it even more.
Always dye dry hair. Hair absorbs water (which is why your suppose to squeeze your hair out before applying conditioner), if it's already holding water it can't absorb the dye.
welllll...i have terribly dark asian hair, so i know how ya feel - bleaching sucks!

i got some cheap mix-it-yourself jerome russell peroxide and bleach from the local drugstore. i have to bleach my hair twice to get it blonde and fried. so first time around, i slather bleach all throughout my hair and i also put a bag smugly over my hair for about an hour. rinse and condition generously.

ideally, you're supposed to give your hair a break and wait to do the second bleaching a week later. but if you don't give a damn, then just repeat until your hair is light blonde.

what colors are you going to dye your hair? for me, if i just bleach once and get carrot-orange hair, red, pink, and purple dye hold well enough. for blue and green, i have to bleach twice or else my hair has a blue/green brownish sewer tinge.

it also depends how thick your hair is. my hair is naturally fine, so it bleaches all right. but i tried to bleach my friend's super thick hair, and even after bleaching twice, it was still only light brown.

anywho, hope this kinda helped. good luck with your hair!
