Mohawks Rock

I'm thinking of cutting my hair into that, but i'm not sure about some things.
like... pretty much everything about it.
how do i cut it to that style? how do i keep it up? i have really thick, curly hair so will i have to straighten it or just the chelsea part? and.... any tips or pictures if you have any cause i can't really find many pictures of hawks like that. /:

uh imnot sure about the curly bit you'd have to ask someone about that but the hawk would have to be hick and think about 7 inches when down coz you'll loose about 2 inches when you back comb it
i think hairspray tis what i used to use on mine when i had back combed sorta robert smith[the cure] hair cut

hope it helps im not sure on a lot of them things coz i'v never had 1 before
pretty sure i have a Chelseahawk..
..not quite sure how the deathhawk but fits in tho..
i always have my fringe down....cos i just hate not having a fringe that covers my forehead.
my hair is naturally real straight..
..but i straighten my sideburns...cos they curl.
if your hair is really curly, straightening it first would probably make it easier.
I was not at all sure about what i was doing when i did it....but my tip if this is going to be your first hawk is, ither find a friend that you know can do the job (not only one that you really like and trust) or really go to the hairdresser.
i let a friend of mine shave it and she actually shaved a hole in my head and its still totally messed up and different lengths and all because i didnt get the friend i know can do the job to do it yet or go to the hairdresser.
so first thing, make sure its shaved properly. then for the bangs; I still have mine, like all the front section and in the sides, too, which i am going to change soon but for the beginning its quite good if you're not absolutely sure about the whole thing. youll still be able to make it look "normal".
I dont put my hawk up every day because its rather long and i havent really figured out how to do it properly yet....

in short: go for it, i know you'll love it! but make sure you have a good cut and a nice shave to start from. curly hair shouldnt be a problem if you want to backcomb anyway, i actually think it'll make it easier. but you should straighten your bangs when its up.
how do i cut it to that style? you would cut it like you were cutting a normal mohawk, you will prob want it an inch and a half to inches wide. before you start shaving your head pin your bangs/front fringe forward and out of the way then cut away!

how do i keep it up? you will need a strong comb, good hairspray, and a blow dryer. backcomb your hair so its nice and knotted and frizzy and almost stands on it own (just like in the pictures)..spray it down real good and hold it up while blow drying.

i have really thick, curly hair so will i have to straighten it or just the chelsea part? having thick and curly hair will work to your advantage for a death hawk, dont straighten it! but yes, if you want your fringe straight youll obviously have to straighten that.

good luck and have fun!
