Bleaching.

I've bleached my hair before, in case that wasn't obvious, but recently they discontinued they type of bleach I was using. I was using some powder mix and 40 peroxide from shoppers drug mart but they changed it from what it used to be and made it significantly less effective. Now it's got something added that makes it a pale purple color and smell minty. and it's useless.

So I'm wondering what other people use and how well it works. I used to keep it on for about an hour and it would take mostly all the color out (depending on the color I was taking out.). I've heard the Bleaching kit from Punky Color works really well but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. I'll be bleaching black out so I don't expect it all to come out in one bleaching.

Any info would be helpful. Also, I'm in Canada so anything Canadian or that can be ordered online relatively cheap would be nice :)

well the first one didn't nor did clicking Canada on the 2nd one, But I'm going to browse the site a bit and see what I can find :) Thanks for all your help, like really thanks, that was a lot more then I was expecting :D

Edit: The bleach powder I was using was Roux. I just saw the brand name on thurr and recognized it

i used shwazcopf extreme xxl and if im nt happy i then use a tonner
if ur getting out black i wud advice using a tonner

From what I've heard the toner just takes our the orange left behind by the black isn't it?
If so I happen to like the orange-ee blond look lol

Depends on the color toner you use. (they make them for all sorts of colors, with different hues in mind)

But if you have a severe brassy tint, violet toner will help balance it (opposite colors on the color wheel, balance each other out, like red and green for make up). You may have to use it a few times (i have shampoo and conditioner for this) to get the tones back to normal, but they definitely help.
