I'll post some neat shite for batons, shillelaghs (irish cane/clubs) and other stick/club/cane things...

I like wood workin' nd' exploring for neat shite, even more so i like weapons so seems appropriate tae share wit' others who like teh same, my knowledge

Irish stick fightin, also known as Bata(stick)ireacht(fightin' i tink), uses a shillelagh, good place tae learn boot teh history of it is here:

http://www.yourdiscovery.com/martialarts/europe/batairecht/index.shtml

Shillelagh's are usually aboot three feet, meed o' a type o' hawthorn but tae say only hawthorn is rediculace. A good introduction of types o' said sticks would be here:

http://johnwhurley.com/shillelagh.htm

Stick fightin' altogether on teh other hand is popular amongst many cultures due tae teh usefulness o' a stick which ye' can usually improvise on teh go, stick fightin' like Escrima/Kali which is pretty common and effective in a real situation:

If ye dig stick fighting stuff of weapons i would recoment "Judo" Gene Lebells books on it, specifically stuff called grappling wit' a club

Good stuff. I did Escrima for a few years - loved it. I'll do it again if I ever find a good place to train.
