Mohawks Rock

I've had a mohawk in the past, and I used got2b products (spray and glue). I have definitely felt like there has been a decent amount of damage done to my hair because of it. I've seen people use eggwhites, axle grease, knox, elmers glue, etc, but I'm not quite sure which I should use now. I'm really afraid that my hair is going to be overly irritated by such strong products, and I'm also skeptical of many products because of their dandruff-like drying qualities...if that makes any sense.

tl:dr = I need to find the least damaging hair product that will hold about a 3-4 inch mohawk, any suggestions?

Try a decent hairspray, with a good strong hold? (It doesn't mean that it has to be expensive. Mine is only 2 bucks) I personally hate the glue, spray and tube, from got2b. My hair was torn to shit, even when I was taking care of it. I just use hairspray, it works well, pretty much with any length.

But...you really can't just use anything in your hair and hope it'll be okay. It'll all damage it one way or another. You have to take care of it on top of what you already do (hot oils, conditioners, letting it have "rest days").
water mixed with sugar and self raising flour
yeah thats it. Condition and it'll be fine
hey dogmeat! i can't recommend a better puttin' up product, but for the take down, i use aussie's 3 minute miracle... wet hair and leave it on for about 5 minutes, and gently start combing all the spikes or fan out, then wash it with either aussie's moist or another gentle shampoo with moisturizers (you should switch around every 2 months or so), then do the 5 minutes again with the 3-minute miracle conditioner, then rinse. if my hawk isn't going up, i don't use any hot appliances, i just let it air dry. the 3 minute miracle is great for curly or wavy hair and helps fight frizz too. another product i use when the hawk is not going up is organix coconut milk hair treatment (or moisturizer) it leaves my hair very soft and shiny. i don't have a lot of hair but it is thick and wavy. hope this helps!

Murray's Hair Dressing Pomade. It comes in a little orange can, usually with the African-American hair products. Especially with shorter-end hawks, works like a fuckin' charm.
I know a lot of people use leave in conditioner and things of that sort, maybe try something like that?
I don't really have this problem (I have too oily hair) but even going into a saloon and asking for some conditioning product might be a good idea.

And every once in a while a trim to help the health.
