Mohawks Rock

These days in america home of the “peace, happy, and innocent” the vast norm of americans are selfish pigs trained by the American government to be voracious about money which seems to be my main problem with america the beautiful. Cash is a piece of paper that apparently can by “anything that makes you happy”. I just don't get it. Sex? A home? Vehicles? Put a person in prison? Is that really all you need in life? What about the happiness that comes naturally, love, friendship, a family, maybe even peace, can money by that? Therefore i detest and still deeply question how something we see everyday makes a person change from a human to a greedy stressed uniform zombie. Not to inculpate you but seriously get your heads out of you asses and know that at the end of all the stress and “needs” when you look back at your life and how fucked up it was you'll ask yourself was it really worth all the bullshit money put you through? When you see different people who have the same shit as you who took a different more optimistic path besides making money the answer to all their problems.

Agreed that our sense of values is screwed up. Complaining doesn't do much good, though. Get involved in your community (all politics and most businesses are local). There are ways to chane things in a nonviolent, constructive manner.

Money is a neccessity in our society, but greed has no place. Find your inner peace, and then do things to share it.....

Morality lesson for the day.....
I try but everyones so concerned about themselves i've done so much and tried so hard but i never works, i mean people say their going to help but most of them are just talking and then when we try to stand up for ourselves the cops always find a way to try and stop us its ridiculous.
i live everyday feeling alone because of my die hard involvement in resistance and activism...none of my friends care and most people i encounter that see me play or see us tabling engage in discussion and if they do, they are not curious and have no interest in hearing why i stand the way i do....i live everyday knowing one day i will probably be in prison or dead due to my politics, i lose sleep knowing that everything that makes my life a bit comfortable is from somebody elses life...the time they put in and received nothing for it....

here is what it comes down to though.....if you really desire the changes, you will live the entire life you have working toward it because it needs to be done. You don't do it for recognition, fame, money or anything. You do it because your ethics dictate that is not right that while i sleep under a roof be it a squatted warehouse or shitty apartment with roaches, there is a child in Palestine who is growing up under 24 hour curfews, seeing and hearing bombs everyday, that somewhere in our own country there are people so desperate they turn to drugs, people sleeping in streets because those liberties guaranteed to us (shelter food etc) are a front and nothing more than words.

The revolution will never come...it is a type of parallel universe that runs alongside this one. It is happening right now. somewhere right now there is a teen runaway train hopping across the country, squatting unused public property as the landlord collects a tax break, there is a person quitting there job to stand in solidarity with people and find pleasure in life rather than a clock, there are people cooking meals from our surplus for the homeless and needy as part of Food Not Bombs.....and we get by everyday knowing that just as something somebody said, or some flier or sticker we saw, some lyrics we read form a band that started in 1976, effected us enough to make that change. And just as we were affected, what we do will create an effect in somebody somewhere.

Tis society will not change en masse soon. It comes very very gradually and often times seems like it never does. Countless times I wonder what the fuck I am doing and get very down. Knowing that I will fight my whole life for a world I will not see. And all the while people will spit on me, call me crazy, sabotage me, hate me, call me all sorts of vile shit.

Every little change you make in yourself for the better will reflect outwardly and it will create a microscopic change at some point. Do not give up because you are not alone.
there are people like that all over the world.. not just in america.. of course we have our fair share of asshats but every country does.
people will never change... i believe in social conflict theory. in a society such as ours where money=power and power is a quantitative commodity expressed in units, people will try to attain more money to therefore attain more power... when one gains power they do it by gaining it from others because power is quantitative, there is a shift in power making the one who gains it stronger while at the same time making the one who lost it weaker, at least socially speaking. the people who have the money have access to greater privileges and commodities.

it is in this way that the rich stay wealthy and the poor still suffer. the rich exert their power over the poor to keep them poor and to remove any threat to their stability. if you have ever read Machiavelli you know that the greatest way to maintain this power is to remain cold, calculated, and feared. our nation (as well as others) seems to take pride in accumulating wealth based on the debt of the masses. In our present times (with the financial crisis at hand) this system is failing and it seems to come as some sort of suprise (i dont see why it should). its like trying to squeeze blood from a stone.

In reality, there is not much that an individual can do to alleviate the situation in our government and society. it would take a mass shift in power to make things "the way they should be". In my eyes its a waste of time to try to comprehend the arrogance displayed by the world today. I believe that for once humankind is working together, they are welcoming their own destruction. I personally see it as a necessity, not that i approve at all, but that one day this must all come to an end.

I believe in unity but i doubt that people want that anymore. our society has become something that thrives on conflict rather than on cooperation. people go crazy when they lose electricity, prejudices are everywhere be they racial, gender, or classist and to top it off even our nation's justice system will bow to the highest bidder.

the best we can do is make the best of the time we have left, and try to make a positive change for ourselves by refusing to perpetuate their mindset. while money is a necessity to survive it must not become us
