What is a good length for a descent mohawk?

I recently had to shave my head because my friend thought it would be funny to shave part of it while I was sleeping. I have decided to get a mohawk but I don't want like a buzz mohawk. I want it a good length for it to look cool and not dumb. So.. whats a good length to start a hawk? Thanks

if you get one, make it at least a whole inch. but If it is an inch, shave the sides down to the skin.

personally, I like mohawks 4-7 inches. my hair is about 5 inches right now and I'm reshaving a mohawk in about a week

I agree. I prefer mine between 4 and 7 inches. My 'hawk is currently at about 4.5 inches.

The only other thing I'd add, is that the shorter, the easier it is to maintain and keep in place for a long time. An inch to a couple of inches is not bad to sort out - but it's even easier if the hair is in dry condition (either naturally, or from bleach/colouring). Once you get used to it, you can try growing it longer until you find the point that's right for you.

Start with 4 inches, don't start with 7. Although 7 is no doubt a better length then 4, you'll want to learn how to put it up by starting small and working your way up with the natural occurrence of hair growth. As your hair grows, the better you'll get and they easier it will be to handle the extra length.

Anything shorter than 4 just looks silly :P
