I'm into almost everything but rap. Was trained on classical piano and violin - still enjoy Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart, etc. Grew up with hard rock. Still enjoy that... Enjoy alternative a lot. Recently got into classic jazz and big band swing....
well...any time I am here at home I have something playing unless I am reading.
I go in cycles with what I listen to...I absolutely love these genres: punk (in all its forms from ska to crust), doom metal, ambient/drone, post rock, noise/power electronics
I like things in other genres as well but those are my main listening habits. Some rap is amazing...not radio shit about bling but look up Dead Prez or Rebel Diaz for extremely political hip hop.
I also dig some goth and neo-classical like Twelfth of Never and Autumn Tears.
Some folk/acoustic stuff and some sound tracks and some black metal.
no way in hell could I limit favorite bands to a list suitable in length for this =) It would take me a long time to do and take up a lot of space =p
Anybody wants any recommendations in these genres, then hit me up.
hmm well alot of old punk, such as the queers the ramones and the dead milkmen etc,to new punk, the distillers veruca salt etc.
classical i listen to when im putting my hair up because it calms me down and i usually get frustrated when im putting my hair up.
i listen to alot of accoustic and mellow music when im trying to sleep like missy higgins tristan prettyman, bright eyes and such.
i listen to everything but rap, techno, and electronica, and country
mainly deathrock, goth rock, & some industrial. but i also love listening to classic rock to. it really varies depending on the mood i'm in, who i'm with, or what i'm doing i guess.
I never know the labels to music, i just listen to what sounds good. I like marilyn manson, queen, slipknot, my chemical romance, mindless self indulgence, the fray, panic at the disco, three days grace, aerosmith, metalica, sixpence none the richer, korn, and lots more that i cant even think of right now.
i tend to listen to a cd until i know every single word on it,so i go through music pretty slow.
