Mohawks Rock

When I put up my Mohawk I use a Blow Dry/ & Hair Straightening combination'
I'm currently using "ConAir" Which sucks dick'

I went to sally's beuty salon and saw some generic brand straighteners that were comparable to CHI there called GSV I think'

There $50 -to- $80 Dollars, which is good because I don't wanna spend over $100 to get one'

Do you know If this is a good idea to buy it?

I Want a good straightener that wont Kill My Hair like ConAir does

I bought a cheap ass 15 dollar one and it works just fine. Actually, I think it is also a conair I just put the heat on a very low setting so it wont fry the hair.

It is also good I hear to use a leave in conditioner before you use straighteners to help that as well
Yeh, I leave my Straightener on a very low setting too'

The two things that tick me off are the white lines and flakes that come when I use the straightener'
and the fact that it makes my hair kind of "Crunchy"

I used my friends GHD straightener and I didn't have any flakes' also it was smooth and not crunchy looking lol only problem is the GHD straightener is like $160 dollars that I've seen
I get the crunchy thing as well but not flakes of any type. How do you put yours up? I was using just hairspray at the end of my last one. I don't know if using other stuff would create flakes or not...actually that is kinda weird to me hah. The only thing that ever flaked or chunked up on me was knox.

A straightener that leaves the hair more smooth might be cool but I cant (and if I could I would refuse to) drop so much on a styling mechanism. I will have to keep my eyes open though and do some research on that matter...
I used to use a hairstraightner... hands down blow dryer and hair spray on top of gel is the way to do it. go look at my pics, work really good when done right.
I'm so thankful that I don't have to put up with curly hair. The mohawk styling is enough in its own.
I guess I could try and put up a mohawk with just a blowdryer'

But it seems like your hands would get tired..
use a small amount of spray and a high heat setting and it takes no effort. I got the hair dryer that is flat and has comb attachment so its even easier. works amazingly well.
