Yea it will get curled but you have to hold the piece your working with exactly how you want it to dry. Blow dry it and then it stays. Btw im thinking about trying your soap thing tonight just to do something differant. Ill let ya know how it goes.
Yeah I have tried on many occasions when I first started doing my hair and I am very clumsy multi tasking with things like that and having ultra fine hair does not help that. I have used wider combs and then tried a really fine dreading comb and it would still fall right through for the most part.
So that combined with me being a dolt and un-coordinated...sought a method that would work better for me.
I am still playing with new things like the knox and still gettnig it down...its an ongoing work in progress haha.
Good luck with the soap method...DO NOT get caught in a rainstorm =p
I found that it can flake and look a bit dandruffy, and flop about 3am on a night out. KMS California (while feckin pricey) is good stuff. its sort of a wax, sort of a paste. I wear my motorbike helmet over the top, it flops down, a couple of secs in front of a mirror and its up again. You can restyle it at any point, so if it starts to flop, you can change to wearing it down...
I'm new to this site, but I have to add my input. Definately Got2BeGlued Hairspray and a blowdryer. That combo can keep any mohawk standing for weeks. I can keep mine up for two weeks straight. That's the best until a better method arises.
rave #4 sux. it sprays like a damn hose, and it makes my hair all matted-looking, and it slops to the side, and it makes my hawk split into like 5 different sections. but costs exactly $2.95. knox gelatin, is too messy for me, and it made my dye fade gray. but - it makes your hair invincible. i use generic sebastian strong hold/shaper plus (hairspray), a comb, and hairdryer, (the almighty hairdryer). I wanna try this got2beglued stuff. so we'll see.
For spikign it i use suave hair spray. Its cheap, may $2.30. Mayeb less then that. It works really well. I actually go to bed with my hawk still up, and find it mostly int act the next moring. Then i just touch it upa nd go. I fidn the cheaper the stuff, the better it works. the reason beign is that its generally more sticky then the other more expensive stuff. So youc an massage it through your hair and blow dry it stiff. Then just go over it with a second coat.
