Mohawks Rock

maybe im just ignorant, i dont know but what direction has punk taken in the 2000s. It would seem that straight edge is better than ever. Street punk and crust punk are both defiantly alive. But what happened to hardcore?

And if someone could suggest me some bands in the 00s that play 80s influnced hardcore, that would be so helpful.

punk is as alive as it was before, it never changed, it never died, people just started calling it other things, also many 80s bands are still around........
Erm... there is really local bands around me like... Last Round Up and Sorry X Skate and a bunch of other bands around the LA OC area that are filled with old timers playing early 80's hardcore. Just look on myspace.. There are quite a bit if you take the time
I dunno. I don't take the time too really educate myself on all there is too know about the punk scene. I guess that I'm just more of a juggalo than I am a punk. If I am even punk. Whatever I am. Blah.
There are a few good 80's punk bands that are still around today. One of my favs would be Bad Religion. But my favorite punk band of all time is Anti-Flag, technically they have been around since 1988, but no one really knew about them till the mid 90's. As of hardcore, I dont know...
