Mohawks Rock

Whats the deal with all of these little kids babies children whatever with mohawks?
i mean yeah i smile when i see a little kid with one its pretty fucking sweet.
but why did all of us get ours? not because our parents that it is cute and cut us one in the summer time.
but because we wanted to be different that the rest of the "normal clean cut" hairstyles or just simply because you like to rock a fucking mohawk its pretty sweet having one. but by giving these kids their mohawks is that really making them different and allowing them to be themselves? its pretty much the same as giving them the flat top or buzz cut or whatever the rest of the kids have. soon enough the mohawk wont be original anymore everyone will have them for awhile the, then the mainstream kids will get sick of them and the fad is out and what about us who already had them to begin with?
Im not saying to give your kids a mohawk? because who the fuck am i to tell you what to do? im just curious what sparks the excitement of giving them these hairstyles?

Could be a few things, just off the top of my 'hawk ;)

- Dressing them up

- Living their wishes through their kids, that they can't do for themselves

- Turrning something wild looking into cute...

- Oh, and keeping up with the Jones, if it's a craze amongst their friends

It's better when they are old enough to appreciate it - I really can't be bothered with all the waste of money & designer stuff for kids. It can be cute sometimes.

I suspect the 'Hawk could also be just another accessory to some parents to get their kid.
ive seen alot of kids beg their parents for mohawks.. alot of them do have them cause THEY want them (the ones that are old enough to ask for one anyway). babies can usually rock the faux hawk but hell, i consider that a normal hairstyle..no haircut required. all in all i dont see how it takes away from anyone with a hawk..its just hair.

my best friends son told me he really wanted a blue mohawk but he cant get one cause his dad has a stick up his butt :(
One thing for sure, it's wrong to deny your kid a mohawk just because you're worried about how other folk will take it. Let the kid decide and learn to deal with how folk can be.
I saw a baby (around 1-2) with a purple and pink hawk, I did about 4 double takes or so, thinking "maybe that's just an incredibly little person with some guy holding them...yeaa...yea...no..."

I ended up giving the father (i think) a "uhhh, huh/whats up with that" kind of look
and he just kind of frowned and pointed to the mother...

:( makes me sadddd
Well now, that's always fun.
Its not just kids with them here, most guys you see walking around have them because its in fashion, but then they give punks shit and call em freaks for having them. Chavs are weird
yeah man i get the same thing
these people doing it for fashion are the same ones who give me shit
...chavs are freaks...
Wait mohawks are in fashion? Then why am I one of the few guys with one in Alaska? Well actually a whole high school swim team cut mohawks for state championships, and geeked out when they saw mine. But I've gotten off subject.

I have to agree with skip about that I think that its parents wanting their kids to stand out and they're too scared to stand out themselves. I have met a few parents who used to rock 'em and its their way of reliving their past.
fohawks are very trendy here..most people just dont have the balls to shave their head
Idk what its like in Atlanta but over here nearly every chav cunt and his dog has one.
yeah it was trendy for a bit, but not so much recently, well around here.
lol about a year ago a kid came up to me and asked me what i use to keep it up, he had a longer hawk then mine and was like 9, his dad had a hawk and his little sister had one to, but the dad was an old punk and asked if glue was still used.
