Mohawks Rock

I'm going to see Misfits tomorrow with a buddy that has NEVER seen them perform. Now back in the day, I remember the shows being fuckin' crazy! I think even just knowing that it was them blew my mind away. They influenced me greatly. Now the thing is I have major respect for the band, more so with Danzig but Graves did open up a whole new door to the more modern misfits. I guess for what it was in the 90's at least. Later on, once Graves left the band, Jerry Only tried as always, to keep the band together as we all know. Back around 2003, I saw Jerry Only perform with Dez from Black Flag, Marky Ramone....a very interesting performance lol. Marky Ramone, left the band in 2005 and who come crawlin back? ROBO! WOW! Now we need Doyle and its on! This band has been through a lot, I could say three different eras. The Danzig Era, Graves Era, and the Only Era haha.
So what do I think of Misfits? I wish so bad I was around to have seen THE Misfits but like Danzig says, that will never happen again. I prefer them cuz it was original, simple. As for Misfits, I dont have much to say...I loved the music and it was a lot harder with a taste of metal I guess. But once Jerry Only took over, I feel for the dude cuz he tried so hard to keep the band together but dammit, he sold out. For the longest, it wasn't even the band anymore. Now two original members make it more acceptable, back then was really rough on the existence of the band. Sometimes, you just have to let go and let punk legend take its course in history. BUT no, Jerry had to find a way to make money out of the band. Advertising it crazy creating fans of today not knowing shit about them. They other day some chick was complimenting my tat and she was like "Oh I love the logo, I bought a shirt the other day but I don't know who they are ha ha ha." My mouth dropped. I just didn't know whether to go off at her or fuckin' educate her fuck! AH what a disgrace! I was so disappointed. Now there's an original Misfits fiend club. Oh yeah did I mention, I have to pay $29.99 to be a member and that's the November special. Also, Jerry is in another band called Osaka Popstar. Seems like it was mainly put together for all the Japan fans. Oh and remember, Japan advertises very gawd damn well. The band sounds like Balzac but even more poppy. I think Balzac flipped the pages on "Misfits."
I don't mean to give Jerry Only a bad name but it's like he took the band for granted and turned it all into a business. Tomorrow I'm gonna show my buddy a good time. Hopefully, Misfits can still fuckin' kick ass on the stage and if so, I hope these hardcore fans can keep up cuz I'm hoping to see blood baby! I wanna see punk rock! Rock on guys!

I've seen them twice as the Jerry-fits and despite how much everyone says that they suck (and let's be honest, they're horrible), they were fun goddamned shows.
Yup! I'll say it, they were horrible as the "Jerry-fits" haha but hell they do put on a fun show. Definetly worth checkin' out.
I really don't care what anyone says. The Misfits is by far my favorite band, and in my personal opinion I think Graves is better than Danzig. Yes, Danzig wrote the original stuff, yes, some of his songs were great. But most of my personal favorites come from the Graves era, such as Dig Up Her Bones, Scream, Helena, and Saturday Night.

I saw the Misfits live once with Jerry, and yeah, he's not that bad at singing, but it's just not the same as seeing Doyle's intimidating stage presence, Chud bashing away on the drums, Jerry playing bass, and Graves singing vox. My sister was lucky and saw the Graves era three times live. She has pictures with Doyle, who.. I wish I could fuck every night of my life. Oh man.. But anyways.

The whole argument of Graves vs. Danzig is stupid. They both have their own singing styles and brought great things to the band.

I just refuse to see them live because they have a bunch of skinny ass losers who look so fucking dumb up there next to big ass Jerry in his full makeup. I mean, if someone was like, yo you wanna go see the Misfits? Yeah, sure I'll go. They're my favorite band. It's just not the same.

And ACTUALLY!! there was talk of a reunion tour with Jerry, Danzig, Doyle, and Chud. But apparently "Jerry fucked it up". In the words of Doyle.

I think Jerry is just making it into a business now. I mean, he's Jerry Only, I'll love him forever. But he lost respect by making it so fucking.. expensive. And I hate the term sold out.. but he kinda did. Charging that much money for everything.. It's ridiculous.

And.. Project 1950 in my opinion.. sucked hard.

With all that said, I'll be a Fiend until the day I die. I love the Misfits, always have, and always will.
oh god. this whole can o' worms again.

basically, I love The misfits. the danzig misfits. they're great fun, love danzigs voice, he's one of my favorite vocalists. I think they were the definition of Horror punk. but it slowly started getting further and further away from that untill it eventually turned into what it is today.

yeah, I think the danzig era was really the best of that band. In my opinion, if the Graves era had named themselves as a different band, it woulda been awesome, but it just doesnt compare to the original.
He's just doing what he does! Remember, you're paying to see him, not the other way around. Why should he give a rats ass if it's not the original Misfits.
theres a few songs i like, otherwise ive never been a fan..
ya i like danzig, graves and Jerry i met Jerry he was really fucking cool he gave me a free shirt and signed it i don't get why people talk shit about Jerry what the fuck i like his voice Ive seen em live three times awesome show each time one of my favorite bands doesn't matter who's singing
I like pretty much anything the misfits have put out, Im sposto be taking my friend brandon to the concert there haveing in NY, at the chance, i still love the misfits...even if Jerry is a bit of a sell out...
I saw them last year and left after 4 songs, the show was shit and full of people telling us to fuck off because we were *freaks* The venue was awful, and they were utter shite :( I've never been to such an awful gig in my life.
Perhaps the most over rated band in my opinion. Out of 20+ years there is only a handful of songs I like of theirs. Though I do commend them in the early years for really upkeeping with the DIY ethic. They were one of the hardest working bands in that regard back then.

What I don't enjoy is seeing all these 14 year old "punks" worshiping bands that were active before they were born and thinking they are the end all of punk rock and really have no idea what DIY actually is....but that is just a personal pet peeve =p
yeah that pisses me off too, its just like chuck norris truths only not funny
