Box Blonde Help

I know there are tons of bleaching threads that I have been skimming, but I would prefer some help finding the right box to get the job done.

My boyfriend wanted to dye parts of his hair platinum blonde/white. I was wondering what box-brands dye you guys have had the best experience with for this sort of thing. His hair is extremely dark brown to black. He doesn't plan on keeping the color for a very long period of time, so damage is not too big of an issue, mostly just getting the right color with out a lot of hassle.

Manic Panic bleaching kits work well for me and i have dark brown hair as well.

im more medium brown but ive had good success with manic panic

I'm really surprised, I would think that Manic Panic would be pretty bad like the dyes.

I found Clairol Born Blonde. It is supposed to be for dark blonde-black hair and turn it pretty damn blonde. We are going to check out Sally's today (hopefully) and see if they have anything better.

I've bleached and done followed all the tricks and trades, but I've always had better luck with Punky Color. It lasts twice as long than Manic Panic for me.

We ended up using a Beyond The Zone kit. It was 40 vol and the Manic Panic was only 30. It came out pretty nice. A little yellow, but not bad. I'll try to get him to post some pics, but he gets really lazy.

i refuse to use box bleach after getting a pretty gnarly chemical burn on my scalp.. i highly recommend going after a powdered bleach and developer instead. cheaper too!
