I live in the hood in the bronx nyc. where people do sell drugs and theres gangs and everyone around here listens mostly to rap or raggaeton, sags there pants and act hard for no reason at all.how is it for you guys of yall live in a hood
i guess it depends on what you call the "hood". i was born in the "hood" meaning it was mostly minorities that lived there, and gangs, and stuff like that. where i live now however is worse i would say. it's not really the ghetto as most people see them because it is mostly rednecks, but it is rednecks that like to cook meth, you can't walk by a lot of the houses around mine without smelling the meth they are cooking inside. one of the houses behind us was actually a house where they kept the drugs before they moved them, and we seen it get raided, they shot if full of flash bombs and everything. i hate it, because i don't want to take my kids outside to play, but we can't afford to move just yet. saving up money though so hopefully be out of the area soon.
I live on the REZ... aka Indian Reservation.....Its like a hood but better. Were sovereign, we don't answer to Canada, were our own nation within a nation. We have our own laws, ways of doing things and life is good. Its not perfect, but I wouldn't want to live any where else. Its better than the city, here we got extended family; cousins, uncles, auntys and friends gallore.
If we get caught drinking n drinving, the rez cops tell us to park the car...we can shoot our gunz, drink beers, smoke, party and take care of ourselves. Common sense is common, so were not killing each other for stupid shit! That happens in the city...hare its rare! I have more faith & hope raisin my daughter here than any city in Canada.
HERE if you want a good life then you gotta get off your ass and make it! Theres no excuse, you either do it or don't. There's drugs, theres alcoholism, theres abuses that happen, as a child I've been subject to most of it....as an adult I don't let it rule me. I make choices and am making a better life here on the Rez! That's how it is!
i live in Scarborough Toronto. the place when said your from, people take a second look and ask if you've ever been shot haha. lots of shit went down in my neighborhood alone, and its consider a pretty tame hood (biker grow-ops, buildings run by hells angels/blood, a grow op down the street, crack house around the corner, and im pretty sure a sweatshop 2 minutes away from my house). and of course lots of violence and drugs. but it has gotten better over the years, and i wouldn't trade it for anything, some of my best friends come form here, and the people i meet are always amazing including all my neighbors(other then the white trash hoarders of trash[literally garbage, like 8 months worth of garbage straight garbage in there garage, and the pimps/gangsters who like to sit outside with there guns out smoking, they left pretty quickly when my mum bitched them out for trying to train a dog to dog fight. she flipped the fuck out on them haha)
