Mohawks Rock

Does it still work as good for any of you out there?

I've read a shitload of the posts out there and everyone says shower, dry then fan or spike it.

But what about hair from 2 days of hairspray and no washing? Still work good? Or should it be clean/cleaner?   Just wondering cuz people say dirty hair holds better.

I wash my hawk down ecery 4-7 days. For the first couple weeks i was a clean freak, and took it own and put it up every morning. Now i sleep with it up. I use shampoo like every 2 weeks.
Oh, it works better after a couple days - esp. if it has plenty hairspray left in it and you have more hairspray and a blow drier to straighten it up. It can though tend to sag at the bottom and curl at the tips more. But I usually find it's easier to re-fan.
ok sooo.. i find that i no longer need to use shampoo.. i use gelatine to put my hair up and i just rinse it out when i wanna put my hair down (usually for work/actual propper sleep :P) n then just rinse it again n blowdry before i put it up again if its a few days later or if its in a day or 2 just dont bother wetting it. n then its easier to hairspray it in place to apply gelatine awesomeness :D also the whole re-fanning thing.. hair straighteners are awesome for retouching gelatine 'hawks and the gelatine doesnt stick to the ceraminc thingies :D

hope this has been informative haha. im gonna get some sleep. peace out...
i'll have to try gelatine sometime. my hair's usually not up for longer than 12 hrs at a time. asian hair doesnt really like to stay up for too long, plus my hawk's at a length where its not too hard to fan.
Greasy hair is a no fly zone. And too much conditioner can weigh it down. I also re-fan, but after about a week, the older hairspray sets in gaps.
the first time i fanned my hair i used conditioner before and i went out into the Nevada and in a matter of minutes it turned into snow. needless to say, it couldnt stay up.
the second time, i skipped the conditioner and it seemed easier. i'm just too lazy to wash my hair everyday. :/
Well you still need to condition, otherwise you'll terribly damage your hair over time. Just simply don't use as much, and make sure you thoroughly wash it out. Common sense.
or just condition on the days you plan to wear it down... you only need to condition a couple times a week... or maybe a spray in conditioner would be good to try?
That's what I meant, I figured it was implied that you'd just condition on days you wear it down.
since i've cut my mohawk-one week ago--i havent dyed or bleached it. so all the hair i have is untouched, which is nice, but my hair likes to do nothing--my mom is asian and her hair genes transferred to me.
its hard to go from lower-back length hair to collar-bone length to mohawk and get used to how much product to use. i still use way too much shampoo everytime hahaha.
i hear that! i've had mine short for about 2 months now and i still over do it on the shampoo
I add gel then comb and blow dry it to get it to stick better. Last night's leftover gel/spray is almost as good. Totally clean hair never goes up in an even fan for me.
