Mohawks Rock

So I have been trying to put my nick name (SLEAZE) across the back of my jacket using .5 inch pyramid studs and it's just not working out as I had hoped.

I know one problem I can fix which was just the spacing of the letters, but the Z is proving to be tricky.

Has anyone else tried spelling out words using studs? what studs did you use?

I was thinking maybe those round one probably the domed ones might work better, but I don't entirely love the look of them. Any suggestions/pictures at all would be very greatly appreciated.

um, mu cousin clint uses both english 77 cone studs and pyramid studs on his, pyramids were hard for him cause of the shape and they would try to over-lap each othercause theywere close but uhh..he recommended spacing the about 1mm apart for curves and letters. the english 77 are easier in my opinion cause theyre rounded...ive never used pyramids on a jacket before, only on pants and wristbands,. if you do it id love to see it.
thanks for the help, yeah for sure I'll post pictures. My jacket should be coming in this afternoon and I have tomorrow off. So I know what I'll be doing :)
aha..whered u get it?
angry young and poor. The girls black biker jacket. I'm almost done putting grey plaid fabric on the inside of the collar all the way down to the bottom. (where people usually put the leopard print)
yeh. thats where i got my black and white one from, good jacket, the one criticization i have about it is that the back, on the upper section, and lower section, its not thick enough, and under the inside sleeve, the leather panel is soft, and im really rough so im constantly worrying about if itll tear of not...hasnt yet and its been a damn good jacket..i just get kinda paranoid when i spend that much time on somethin like that..
the cone studs show up better from a distance and they're easier to hold onto when you're putting them in I agree. Less wear and tear on your thumbs lol.
so I used the pyramid studs on denim, and they aren't staying in worth a shit. :( And I also underestimated how much room I had so they're crammed, but even spaced out a tad I think it'll be too crowded.

I have just started doing my leather using the cone studs. I bought the studs at a local punk shop, no idea where they got them from, they have 6 tabs at the back, not just 2. So they are staying in a whole lot better, but this also might be the fact that I am now studding leather and not denim. ???

I will post pictures when it's all said and done, I'm actually worried about how the "S" and "Z" are going to come out, I started in the middle and am going outwards, not sure if there will be a whole lot of room left at the end.

the studs I am using are .5" I think there are smaller available, but I don't think they'll look as good. Anyone else use really small studs?
So I am running into a problem: I'm not entirely sure how to explain where on the jacket I am but I'll do my best

The back of the shoulder of the far left side where the sleeve joins, there is a slight "flap" to allow better shoulder movement w/n the jacket. How do you stud this area? the leather is doubly thick here so even tho the tabs are in as far as they can go, they still dont poke through to the other side.

What do I do? I'm putting letters on the back w/ stud so I cant just skip this part. Is there a way to glue studs on?
