Prom, yea, I want help on a dress. -_-
So. I don't wear dresses. They annoy me. But, I have prom coming up in may(I think that's when it is? but like every girl I know already has her dress and a date, so I was like fuck, maybe I should get on top of this) and I intend to wear a dress, I was contemplating wearing a tux just to bother some people, haha, but now my grandparents who haven't seen me in 7 years and think I'm still their little princess are gunna be paying for it, sooo I don't wanna give them too many heart attacks in a row with the mohawk and piercings etc...
Anyways my problem being, where do you buy prom dresses? Seriously? I'm clueless, and like how do you know it's "fancy" enough, haha. I feel so clueless. Please help me!

im too lazy to actually look for any right now but you might wanna check out lipservice and hot topic (i dont care how many people hate hot topic they often have alot of cute and affordable clothes!) as it gets closer to prom season they will have more formal dresses...its still pretty damn far off

Mmmm, I got "my" prom dress for this spring there, cause I work there part time *ducks* and it's a strapless, mid-thigh dark purple with black lace number..and yes, I INTEND on wearing my god damn boots haha.
But found gorgeous, jaw dropping dresses on angry young and poor that I'm considering still (leopard print, tight fit with a modern twist) and a few others.
Ironically, I normally find my dresses second hand or so...
But I'm a prom whore. But this is my last one ;-) and I spoiled myself.
Sometimes schools do "prom closets" which is cool...or clearance wedding dresses are a good option too...not all of them are white and overly formal!!
OR: (if you have trouble or want ideas) and if you can fit some of my dresses, maybe I can send one out your way for a nominal fee haha. they aren't ugly, i swear. You aren't too far away... lol

Haha, I've been trying for ages. Wore chuck taylor high tops for my senior prom and flip flops that night - that was a while ago though
Sam has decided for his senior prom we're going all out...so we're trying to stud him up a tux/suit. If we ever get it finished I'll definitely show some pics

God, just don't wait til the last minute.
Especially if you wear a size that will go fast. I notice a lot of 5's and 7's and 1's left over every year (at least in my area) but not much else in the size run (juniors/misses). If you wear a slightly larger size, make sure you grab the dress if you fall in love with it...and don't wait like I did haha.
The other left over dresses....are absolutely atrocious sometimes. They should have NEVER been created!

Well, you could google them or, I found that using magazines are actually better when looking for a prom dress. One of my ex-girlfriends needed a prom dress and asked me to get it for her, so i checked out some magazines in a hair salon, asked if i could keep it and ordered her one. She loved it. The good things about magazines are, they don't have enough room to keep really crappy dresses, so they can only show ones that are actually somewhat decent.
But yea, just get whatever makes you feel good, forget what other people think.
